Special effect silicone coloring precautions
Pearl / Metallic color paste
Avoid excessive force when stirring to prevent the pearlescent particles (such as titanium dioxide coated mica powder) from being destroyed, resulting in a decrease in glossiness; it is recommended to add the pearlescent color paste at the end and gently stir until it is evenly mixed.
Fluorescent color paste
The fluorescent color paste is lighter in color under natural light and needs to show a bright effect under ultraviolet light. The amount added can be increased to 1%~3%, but it should be noted that excessive use may cause the migration of fluorescent agents and affect the safety of products (such as silicone products that come into contact with the skin).
Gradient / layered effect
When coloring in layers, it is necessary to control the curing time difference of each layer of silicone (such as pouring the second layer after the first layer is 50% cured) to avoid excessive mixing of the two layers of silicone, resulting in blurred gradient boundaries; if you pursue a natural color mixing effect, you can retain some color blocks that are not fully mixed during pouring.
