Precautions for adding diluent to silicone dispensing machine
1. Safety and environmental protection
Diluent is flammable. Open flame is prohibited in the operation area and fire extinguishers are equipped;
Waste diluent must be sealed and stored, treated as hazardous chemicals, and cannot be discharged directly.
2. Impact of silicone performance
Dilution ratio exceeding 20% may cause the hardness of silicone to decrease and the adhesion to weaken after curing. It is recommended to do a small sample test (such as curing time and strength test);
Addition type silicone should avoid using diluents containing sulfur and phosphorus to prevent catalyst poisoning and non-curing.
3. Equipment maintenance
If diluent is used for a long time, it is necessary to regularly check the seal of the dispensing machine (select fluororubber or nitrile rubber material, resistant to solvent corrosion);
If the machine is shut down for more than 24 hours, it is recommended to discharge the remaining silicone in the barrel and clean the pipeline with diluent to prevent silicone curing and blockage.
