How to solve the problem of bubbles when printing socks silicone?
Bubbles appearing when printing socks silicone is a common problem. The following is an analysis of possible causes and corresponding solutions:
Silicone mixing problem:
Cause: When mixing silicone and curing agent, if the stirring speed is too fast, a large amount of air will be brought in to form bubbles; in addition, inaccurate mixing ratios may also affect the performance of silicone and cause bubbles.
Solution: According to the requirements of the product manual, stir the silicone and curing agent at an appropriate speed. The stirring speed should not be too fast, and the time should not be too long. Stir evenly; strictly mix silicone and curing agent according to the prescribed ratio to ensure the normal curing and stable performance of silicone.
Printing environment problem:
Cause: The temperature and humidity of the printing environment have a certain impact on the printing effect of silicone. If the ambient temperature is too high, the curing speed of silicone will be accelerated, and bubbles are easily formed inside; excessive humidity may affect the performance of silicone and cause bubbles.
Solution: Control the temperature and humidity of the printing environment, keep the temperature within a suitable range (generally 20℃-25℃), and keep the humidity at around 40%-60%. Air conditioning and dehumidification equipment can be used to adjust environmental conditions.
Screen and printing process problems:
Cause: Improper selection of screen mesh. If the mesh is too high, the speed of silicone passing through the screen will slow down, and it is easy to accumulate on the screen, resulting in bubbles; uneven pressure and speed of the scraper during printing will also cause uneven distribution of silicone on the socks, forming bubbles.
Solution: According to the characteristics of silicone and the requirements of the printed pattern, select a screen with a suitable mesh. Generally speaking, meshes between 80-200 are more commonly used; during the printing process, keep the pressure and speed of the scraper uniform to avoid silicone accumulation and bubble generation.
Quality problems of silicone itself:
Cause: If the quality of silicone is not good, it may contain impurities or moisture, which will form bubbles during the printing process.
Solution: Choose silicone products with reliable quality, purchase from regular channels, and pay attention to the shelf life and storage conditions of the product. Before use, you can check the silicone, such as observing the color and texture of the silicone, to ensure that the silicone has not deteriorated or been contaminated.
No degassing treatment:
Reason: Silicone will inevitably bring in some air during the mixing process. If degassing is not performed, the air will form bubbles after printing.
Solution: Put the prepared silicone into a vacuum degassing machine for degassing, and the bubbles in the silicone will be discharged through the vacuum environment. The degassing time depends on the amount of silicone and the bubble situation, generally about 5-15 minutes.
