How to perform high-precision engraving and structural optimization in mold making
Mold material and processing accuracy
Preferably choose steel molds (high hardness and wear resistance) or high-precision aluminum molds (suitable for small and medium batches), and avoid using plastic molds (easy to wear and cause pattern deformation).
CNC engraving machine is used for processing, and the engraving accuracy must reach 0.05mm (such as the stars and stripes in the team logo) to ensure that the pattern details on the mold surface are completely consistent with the design draft.
Mold structure design
Vent setting: Add 0.1-0.2mm wide and 0.05-0.1mm deep vents in complex pattern areas (such as intersections of multiple lines) or corners to avoid air bubbles formed when silicone is filled, resulting in missing corners of the pattern.
Demolding slope: The inner wall of the mold cavity is sloped at 0.5°-1° to reduce the pulling of the pattern edge during demolding and prevent details from being torn.
Surface polishing: The surface roughness of the mold must be ≤Ra0.8μm (mirror-grade polishing) to ensure that the mold texture can be completely replicated after silicone molding, avoiding blurring of the pattern due to rough molds.
