Choose high-quality silicone material: Use silicone with good thermal stability, moderate elasticity and high replication accuracy to make molds. High-quality silicone can better withstand temperature changes during the thermal transfer process, maintain a stable shape, and can more accurately replicate the details of the logo pattern, thus laying the foundation for improving the clarity of the transfer.
Accurate mold making:
Master mold accuracy: As the basis for making silicone molds, the pattern or text of the master mold must be clear and accurate, without any blurring, missing or other defects. The master mold can be obtained through high-precision engraving, printing and other methods to ensure that it can provide accurate original pattern or text information.
Accurate ratio of silicone and curing agent: When making silicone molds, strictly follow the product manual to accurately mix silicone and curing agent. Inaccurate ratio may cause incomplete or over-curing of silicone, affecting the quality of the mold and thus affecting the clarity of the transfer. For example, an incompletely cured silicone mold may be soft in texture and unable to withstand the pressure and temperature during the transfer process, resulting in deformation and blurring of the pattern; over-curing may make the mold too hard and elastic, which is also not conducive to clear transfer.
Injection and curing standard operation: When injecting silicone, ensure that the space of the master mold can be fully filled to avoid voids, bubbles, etc. The curing process should provide suitable ambient temperature and ventilation conditions. According to the type of silicone and ambient temperature, the curing time should be reasonably controlled to ensure that the silicone is completely cured and a reliable quality mold is formed.
(II) Mold surface treatment
Improve surface smoothness: Treat the surface of the silicone mold to make it as smooth as possible. The smooth surface has less friction with the surface of the object to be transferred during thermal transfer, and can fit the surface of the object more closely, which is conducive to the clear transfer of the logo pattern to the object. The surface smoothness can be improved by polishing and other methods.
Ensure good demoulding performance: Although demoulding performance mainly affects the smoothness of demoulding after the transfer is completed, it will indirectly affect the clarity of the transfer. If the demoulding is not good, some silicone traces may remain on the surface of the object, affecting the clarity of the transfer pattern. Measures such as adding an appropriate amount of demoulding agent to the silicone can be used to improve the demoulding performance to ensure that the mold can be cleanly separated from the object after the transfer is completed.
