How to deal with silicone mixing and degassing during silicone casting?
1. Proportional mixing
Weigh the silicone base material and curing agent according to the proportion in the instructions (such as adding silicone component A and component B mixed in a ratio of 1:1), and pour into the mixing cup.
Stir at a constant speed for 2-5 minutes to ensure full mixing and avoid excessive bubbles caused by vigorous stirring.
2. Vacuum degassing (optional)
Pour the mixed silicone into the vacuum pump container, evacuate to below -0.08MPa, and keep it for 5-10 minutes until the bubbles are completely discharged (the liquid surface is calm and no bubbles float up).
Note: Condensation silicone releases small molecules during the curing process, so it needs to be poured as soon as possible after degassing; addition silicone can be degassed and left to stand for a while before use.
