GOTS Certification's Core Positioning and Scope
GOTS is not limited to "organic fibers" but rather a comprehensive standard covering the entire textile industry chain. Its core objective is to reduce environmental pollution from textile production through strict controls and to protect the legal rights of workers involved in the production process.
1. Applicable Product Types
Fiber Raw Materials: Must be based on fibers grown using organic farming practices (such as organic cotton, organic linen, organic wool, and organic silk), with specific minimum requirements for organic fiber content (see "Certification Levels" below).
Product Scope: Covers all textiles and textile products, including but not limited to:
Apparel (underwear, outerwear, children's clothing, etc.)
Home Textiles (bedding, towels, curtains, etc.)
Decorative Fabrics (carpets, cushions, etc.)
Technical Textiles (some categories meet the requirements)
