What silicone diluents are not flammable or explosive?
Dimethyl silicone oil, also known as polydimethylsiloxane, is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, and non-volatile liquid. It has a high flash point and is non-flammable. It is chemically stable, remains stable even at high temperatures, and does not easily decompose or produce harmful substances.
Propylene glycol: A common example is 1,2-propylene glycol, a colorless, viscous, stable liquid that is miscible with various organic solvents, including water and ethanol. Its flash point is relatively high, for example, 1,2-propylene glycol has a closed cup flash point of 98.9°C. While somewhat flammable, it is not considered a flammable or explosive hazardous chemical.
Water: Water is a commonly used silicone diluent. It is not inherently flammable and is not flammable or explosive.
