What are the wire coating processes?
Dip coating method: Continuously immerse the wire in a container containing flame-retardant silicone so that the silicone adheres evenly to the surface of the wire. This method is simple to operate and suitable for large-scale production, but it may cause uneven thickness of the silicone coating. To improve this situation, the speed and number of dip coating can be controlled, or a scraping process can be added after dip coating to adjust the thickness of the coating.
Spray coating method: Use a spray gun to spray the flame-retardant silicone on the surface of the wire in a mist form. The spray coating method can achieve a relatively uniform coating thickness, and the pressure and distance of the spraying can be adjusted as needed to control the thickness and quality of the coating. However, there may be a waste of silicone during the spraying process, and the working environment needs to be properly ventilated to avoid the impact of silicone mist on the health of the operator.
Extrusion coating method: The flame-retardant silicone is extruded and evenly coated on the surface of the wire through an extruder. This method can accurately control the coating amount and coating thickness of the silicone, has high production efficiency, and is suitable for continuous production. During the extrusion coating process, it is necessary to pay attention to adjusting the extruder parameters such as temperature, pressure and speed to ensure that the silicone can be evenly coated on the surface of the wire and tightly bonded to the wire.
