Silicone itself: Thick plate silicone with different formulas and models has different properties such as fluidity and shrinkage after curing, which will affect the achievable screen printing thickness. For example, thick plate silicone with good fluidity and low curing shrinkage can pass through screen printing more smoothly, accumulate on the base material to form a relatively thicker silicone layer, and the upper limit of the achievable screen printing thickness is relatively higher; if the silicone has poor fluidity or shrinks significantly during curing, it is difficult to print a thicker and qualified pattern, and it is easy to have problems such as surface unevenness and cracking.

Screen mesh selection: The screen mesh is an important parameter in screen printing. The lower the mesh, the larger the mesh size of the screen, and the easier it is for the thick plate silicone to pass through the mesh and print on the base material, and the corresponding achievable screen printing thickness may be thicker. On the contrary, the mesh size of the high mesh screen is small, and it is difficult for the silicone to pass through. It is suitable for printing thinner and finer patterns, but not conducive to thick coating printing of thick plate silicone. Therefore, choosing a screen with a suitable mesh size is critical to controlling the screen printing thickness.
Printing times and methods: If you want to achieve a thicker screen printing thickness, you can use multiple printing stacking methods, wait for the silicone to properly solidify after each printing, and then print again to gradually increase the thickness of the silicone. In addition, using different printing methods, such as scraper-type screen printing, automatic screen printing, etc., will also have different effects on the coating effect and thickness control of the silicone. For example, automatic screen printing may be better than scraper-type in thickness uniformity control, and is more conducive to accurately achieving the desired screen printing thickness.
