Types of Photosensitive Emulsions for Screen Printing

1. Types of Photosensitive Emulsions

Photosensitive emulsions are used to coat the mesh fabric, forming a light-blocking layer to create the pattern.

1.1 Diazo Emulsion

Low cost with good water resistance, suitable for general inks (such as water-based and solvent-based inks).

Longer exposure time with moderate resolution.

1.2 SBQ Emulsion (Single-Component Photopolymer)

High resolution with short exposure time, ideal for fine details (such as circuit boards and high-definition halftones).

More expensive and requires high-mesh screens.

1.3 Capillary Film

Pre-coated film that directly adheres to the mesh, eliminating the coating process.

Suitable for high-precision applications.

2. Material Selection Recommendations

2.1 General Printing

Polyester mesh + aluminum alloy frame + Diazo emulsion.

2.2 High-Precision Printing

Stainless steel mesh/high-mesh polyester + SBQ emulsion.

2.3 Curved/Flexible Surface Printing

Nylon mesh + low-viscosity ink.

Selecting the appropriate materials can significantly enhance screen durability and print quality. The choice should be based on ink type, substrate material, and pattern complexity.
