The main components and types of platinum curing agents
Platinum curing agents are usually composite systems, composed of the following core components:
Active components: Platinum complexes (such as chloroplatinic acid, platinum-vinyl siloxane complexes, etc.) are the core of catalytic reactions.
Carrier/Solvent: Low-viscosity silicone oil or organic solvents (such as toluene), used for diluting and dispersing platinum catalysts, facilitating mixing with the base material.
Stabilizer: Some products add inhibitors (such as alkyne alcohol compounds) to delay the reaction at room temperature and extend the system's useful life (i.e., "operation time").
It can be classified by usage as:
General-purpose: Suitable for most addition-cured silicone rubbers, such as mold compounds and electronic potting compounds.
High-temperature resistant type: Optimized formula to adapt to high-temperature curing scenarios (such as above 150℃), ensuring the stability of the catalyst.
Rapid curing type: Adjust the platinum concentration or inhibitor ratio to meet the requirements of rapid prototyping (such as LED packaging).
