The content standards of D4, D5, and D6 in screen printing silicone vary due to regulatory requirements in different countries and regions and different application scenarios:
EU: According to REACH regulations, from January 31, 2020, the content of D4 and D5 in rinse-off cosmetics is limited to less than 0.1% (w/w); from June 6, 2026, D4, D5, and D6 shall not be used as dry cleaning solvents for textiles, leather, and fur, except that D5 is used as a solvent for cleaning textiles, leather, and fur in strictly controlled closed dry cleaning systems, and the cleaning solvent is recycled or incinerated.
China: There is currently no clear and unified standard for the content of D4, D5, and D6 in screen printing silicone, but the standards of some related products may involve restrictions on volatile organic compounds, etc., which indirectly affects the content control of these substances in screen printing silicone. For example, in environmentally friendly silk-screen silicone products, manufacturers will control the content of substances such as D4, D5, and D6 to meet relevant environmental protection requirements.
Industry standards: Some companies will refer to some industry standards or specifications when producing silk-screen silicone. For example, Xin'an's patented system and method for removing volatiles from methyl vinyl silicone rubber can reduce volatiles to less than 0.75wt%, and the content of each item of D4, D5, and D6 to less than 0.25wt%.
