As a new type of environmentally friendly polymer material, room temperature curing silicone rubber has many advantages, but it also has some disadvantages.

Advantages
Room temperature curing silicone rubber mainly has the following advantages: good insulation performance, high temperature resistance, good flexibility, environmental protection, excellent chemical resistance, and easy curing.

Disadvantages
Yellowing phenomenon: Some types of room temperature curing silicone rubber, such as deketoxime silicone, may yellow on the surface due to the oxidation of amino groups or some chemical reactions of catalysts under long-term ultraviolet light or high temperature environment above 80°C.
Aerosol phenomenon: When deketoxime silicone is used in a closed system, such as lighting, car lights and other industries, it sometimes produces a phenomenon similar to "aerosol" on the inner surface of the glass, affecting the light transmittance and aesthetics of the glass. This is because the butanone oxime released during curing cannot be discharged into the atmosphere in time and accumulates and adheres to the surface of the glass.
Curing speed limit: The curing speed of single-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is affected by the vulcanization system, temperature, humidity and thickness of the silicone rubber layer. Increasing the temperature and humidity of the environment can speed up the vulcanization process, but in some cases, such as deep curing, it may be difficult to achieve rapid curing.
