Introduction to Specialized Silicone-Based Diluents
Silicone-based diluents supplied by ink manufacturers or designed specifically for silicone inks are the safest choice:
Ingredients: Mostly low-viscosity dimethyl silicone oil (e.g., 50-100 cs), methylphenyl silicone oil, or silicone rubber oligomers, offering excellent compatibility with silicone inks.
Advantages:
Does not affect the curing reaction (applicable to both addition and condensation types);
Leaves no residue after evaporation, and does not reduce the ink's high and low temperature resistance, aging resistance, or elasticity;
Non-corrosive to substrates (e.g., silicone, rubber, and plastic).
Applications: All silicone ink screen printing applications, especially those requiring high adhesion and elasticity (e.g., silicone keypads, medical devices, and high-temperature resistant components).
