When bubbles appear in the anti-slip silicone of socks, the following methods can be used to deal with it:
1. Analysis of the causes of bubbles
Introduction of bubbles when mixing the glue: When mixing the two components A and B of the silicone, if the stirring method is incorrect or the viscosity of the glue is high, it is easy to bring air into the glue to form bubbles.
Bubbles are generated during the curing process: Too fast curing speed, high heat dissipation temperature, large glue curing shrinkage, too much solvent or plasticizer in the glue, and volatile impurities in the silicone formula may all produce bubbles during heating and curing.
2. Bubble treatment method
Vacuuming or centrifugal treatment: When the silicone has not yet cured, a vacuum machine can be used to extract bubbles. If there is no vacuum machine, you can also try centrifugal treatment to remove bubbles in the silicone.
Stationary method: Let the mixed silicone stand for a period of time (such as 30 minutes to 2 hours) to allow the bubbles to float to the surface and dissipate naturally. However, this method may not work well for silicone with higher viscosity.
Stirring and degassing: Stir the silicone in a clockwise direction for 2 to 3 minutes. After stirring evenly, let the glue stand for 5 to 20 minutes to allow it to degas automatically. But again, this method may not be suitable for silicone with high viscosity.
Adjust curing conditions: If the bubbles are caused by too fast curing speed or high heat dissipation temperature, you can try to adjust the curing conditions, such as lowering the curing temperature or extending the curing time, to reduce the generation of bubbles.
Formula adjustment: If the bubbles are caused by volatile impurities in the silicone formula, you can consider adjusting the formula to reduce the content of these impurities. At the same time, you can also adjust the amount of solvent and plasticizer added to the glue to avoid bubbles during the curing process.
3. Preventive measures
Strict mixing ratio: When mixing silicone, you should strictly follow the ratio on the product manual to ensure the stability of the performance of the silicone.
Optimize stirring method: Use the correct stirring method to avoid bringing air into the glue. You can use tools such as a stirrer or a scraper to stir and ensure that the stirring is uniform.
Control curing conditions: During the curing process, the curing temperature, humidity and time should be strictly controlled to ensure that the silicone can be completely cured and reduce the generation of bubbles.
Strengthen quality control: Strengthen quality control during the production process, and strictly monitor and test the raw materials, mixing process, curing process, etc. to ensure stable and reliable product quality.
