How to control the screen and printing parameters when screen printing high-gloss silicone
Screen selection:
Mesh count: 120-200 mesh stainless steel screen (if the mesh count is too low, the ink is too thick and the leveling is poor, if the mesh count is too high, the ink is too thin and the gloss is insufficient), with 20-30μm thick photosensitive glue to ensure uniform ink deposition.
Screen tension: Control at 25-30N/cm. Insufficient tension will cause blurred printing patterns. Excessive tension will easily scratch the screen and affect the flatness of ink distribution.
Printing parameters:
Scraper hardness: Use 70-80 Shore A polyurethane scraper. If the hardness is too low, the ink will easily accumulate. If the hardness is too high, the scraping will not be sufficient. It is recommended to keep the angle at 45°-60° to ensure uniform ink transfer.
Printing pressure: 0.5-1.0kg/cm². Too much pressure will cause the ink to penetrate into the gaps of the substrate. Too little pressure will result in a thin ink layer and insufficient gloss. The speed should be controlled at 15-25cm/s. Print at a uniform speed to avoid uneven ink volume in some areas.
