How to choose the hardness of embossed silicone
40-50 degrees: If the pattern is not very fine, embossed silicone with a hardness of 40-50 degrees is generally used. While ensuring a certain three-dimensional sense, this hardness of silicone also has good toughness and tear resistance, and can withstand a certain degree of stretching and friction. It is suitable for some occasions that do not require high pattern accuracy but have high durability requirements, such as embossing on the surface of ordinary clothing, luggage, etc.
50-60 degrees: For leather embossed silicone, leather embossed filling silicone, etc. that form three-dimensional patterns on the surface of leather or textiles, silicone with a hardness of 50-60 degrees is often used. Silicone in this hardness range can form clear and three-dimensional patterns on materials such as leather, and has good high temperature resistance, stone wear resistance and water washing resistance, strong adhesion, and can keep the embossed pattern intact during long-term use and washing.
Around 70 degrees: If there are special requirements, such as when a very strong three-dimensional sense is required, silicone with a hardness of around 70 degrees may be used. However, silicone of this hardness has relatively poor toughness and may deform and return to its original shape after being washed several times, so special design is usually required in the formula or process to take into account both three-dimensional effect and washability.
