Fibre down silicone is important for cotton T-shirt printing
In cotton T-shirt printing, fibre down silicone is often used. Its main roles and usage methods are as follows:
I. Functions of Fibre Down Silicone
Smooth Printing:
Fibre down silicone reduces the fabric surface's lint, allowing silicone prints to adhere more smoothly to the material.
Enhancing Appearance:
By using flocking silicone, issues such as uneven prints or bubbles during silicone printing can be avoided, improving the visual quality of the printed design.
Increasing Adhesion:
Fibre down silicone helps the silicone penetrate the fabric fibers better, enhancing the bond between the silicone and the fabric, resulting in a more durable print.
II. Usage Method for Fibre Down Silicone
Prepare Silicone Materials:
Select silicone suitable for cotton T-shirt printing and determine the type (e.g., regular silicone or platinum-cured silicone) and whether additives such as curing agents or leveling agents are required.
Mix Silicone:
Based on the type of silicone and printing requirements, add an appropriate amount of curing agents (usually around 10%) and leveling agents, then mix thoroughly. The leveling agent helps improve printing smoothness.
Printing Process:
Apply Silicone:
Print the prepared silicone onto the specified area of the cotton T-shirt.
Pressing:
Use a heat press or embossing machine. Place high-temperature paper (or other suitable isolation material as per equipment requirements) over the printed area and press it. The pressing temperature typically ranges from 170°C to 250°C, and the pressing time is determined by the silicone's curing speed and printing requirements, usually between 10 to 25 seconds.
Curing:
After pressing, allow the silicone to cure completely. The curing time depends on the type of silicone and printing conditions.
Post-Processing:
Based on printing requirements, perform additional treatments such as cleaning or drying the printed area to ensure the design's clarity and aesthetic appeal.
