Core ingredients of gold silicone color paste
The function of gold silicone color paste is to give silicone products (such as molds, accessories, industrial accessories, etc.) a golden appearance. Its core ingredients include colorants, carriers (silicone-compatible resins or solvents), and additives. The colorants determine the "golden" effect, which mainly includes two categories:
Metallic pigments (commonly known as "gold powder")
The "gold powder" here is not real gold powder (too expensive), but copper-zinc alloy powder (bronze powder, brass powder), which presents different gold colors (such as reddish "antique bronze gold" and yellowish "bright gold") by adjusting the ratio of copper and zinc.
Advantages: Strong metallic texture, can present a real metallic luster, suitable for scenes that require "metallic texture gold" (such as decorative silicone products).
Note: Metal powder may affect the vulcanization (curing) performance of silicone, and needs to be matched with special additives, and long-term exposure to air may cause slight oxidation (darkening of color).
Organic/inorganic pigments (non-gold coloring)
If you pursue a "golden tone" rather than a metallic texture, you will use yellow + a small amount of red organic pigments (such as azo) or inorganic pigments (such as yellow iron oxide + red iron oxide).
Advantages: good stability (not easy to oxidize), low cost, suitable for silicone products that do not require a metallic texture (such as industrial silicone accessories).
In addition, the carrier needs to be compatible with silicone (such as silicone resin, silicone oil), and the additives are used to improve dispersibility (avoid pigment precipitation) and enhance adhesion.
