Silk-screen silicone printing typically involves layering, with a total of approximately 7–16 layers, adjusted based on the target thickness and glossiness. For a basic pattern or solid color, approximately 5–8 layers are sufficient.
Common Layering and Layer Recommendations
Primer/Undercoat: 1–3 coats to enhance adhesion.
Intermediate/Structural Coat: 0–2 coats, applied based on thickness.
Color Coat: 2–4 coats; for darker colors or high-coverage requirements, up to 4–6 coats may be used.
Transparent/High-Gloss Coat: 4–8 coats to enhance dimensionality and gloss.
Top/Surface Coat: 1–2 coats to control gloss and feel.
Specialty Processes (Brush Printing/3D Relief): Up to approximately 20 coats may be used.
