How to choose and apply auxiliary silicone rubber in the molding process of carbon fiber composite materials
Carbon fiber composite materials are inorganic high-performance fibers with a carbon content of more than 90% and are transformed from organic fibers through a series of heat treatments. They are new materials with excellent mechanical properties.
They have strong high temperature resistance, chemical stability, specific strength, specific modulus, rigid strength, and lightweight characteristics. They are often used in aerospace, military defense, high-end car modification, sports equipment, customized products and other fields.
There are many kinds of carbon fiber molding processes, and the appropriate process manufacturing is selected according to the application scenarios and requirements of the parts. This issue will explain the "silicone airbag inflation-assisted molding carbon fiber" molding method of "reducing costs and increasing efficiency, and easy operation".
The operation method is to mix the A/B of the specially adjusted liquid silicone rubber in the required ratio, operate it in a prefabricated mold after vacuum degassing (the mold needs to be demolded first), and use the shaking mold method (centrifugal force) to make the silicone liquid roll evenly to achieve the desired airbag wall thickness, and install the blowing nozzle. The silicone material is solidified and formed by room temperature/heating acceleration. The air nozzle needs to be molded as one with the silicone airbag to ensure air tightness.
During construction, the molded silicone airbag is first inflated and a release agent is applied to the surface, then carbon fiber is laid and placed in a rigid mold, and molded under resin thermosetting conditions to demold the finished carbon fiber parts.
In the molding process of carbon fiber products, the specially adjusted silicone rubber HT-T98 series and BQ-98 series effectively solve the problems of demolding, high investment cost, long processing period, and uneven product surface wrinkles. The specially adjusted silicone rubber developed and produced by us is also suitable for making silicone thermal expansion core molds, silicone vacuum bags, silicone hot molding molds, etc.
